One of the first things I loved about the new adults only Secrets Mirabel Cancun is the location. It’s situated right at the south entrance of the Cancun Hotel Zone, which means it’s very close to the airport — a short, easy transfer instead of a long ride after landing. The resort sits directly on the Caribbean, so you get those unreal turquoise water views right away. Plus this part of the hotel zone just feels a little bit calmer and more spaced out!
Walking into Secrets Mirabel Cancun for the first time, the very first thing I noticed was the space. The lobby instantly sets the tone — it’s open, airy, elegant, and feels incredibly calm. Everything feels fresh and new (and for the most part, it is), and there’s this polished, modern luxury vibe that makes you want to slow down and soak it all in.
Secrets Mirabel officially opened in mid-November 2025, and you can absolutely tell. While this wasn’t a brand-new build from scratch, the entire resort was completely renovated and reimagined, and it truly feels brand new. They also added a brand-new Preferred Club experience, which honestly takes this resort to another level.

Rooms & Accommodations
I toured a Deluxe Ocean View Room with Balcony, and it was very much what you’d expect from a Secrets resort — clean, comfortable, and nicely designed. It’s more classic than over-the-top, but still very nice. The room had all the amenities you’d want, including a fully stocked mini-bar, a coffee maker, and of course 24/7 room service, which is always included at all of the Secrets resorts.
Then I saw the Preferred Club Junior Suite Oceanfront, and this was easily my favorite room I toured. The space is noticeably larger, and the bed is positioned right in the middle of the room, facing straight out toward the water. Waking up to that view would be unreal. There’s also a couch seating area in front of the bed by the window that also gives you sweeping Caribbean views! The balcony was huge and the whole room just felt really spacious & special.
Preferred Club rooms — along with the Master, Governor, and Presidential Suites — include a bathtub in the bathroom, which makes it feel extra relaxing. Preferred Club guests also get better beer brands stocked in the mini-fridge and upgraded liquors at Preferred Club bars.

Preferred Club vs. Non-Preferred: Is It Worth It?
At Secrets Mirabel, I genuinely think Preferred Club is worth the upgrade — and that’s not something I say about every resort. With about 30% of the rooms falling into the Preferred Club category, this is one of those resorts where going Preferred really feels worth it.
Non-Preferred Rooms
Non-Preferred rooms at Secrets Mirabel are still very nice, clean, and comfortable, and they give you full access to all restaurants, bars, pools, and resort activities. The main pool areas are fun and lively, with a social atmosphere throughout the day. This category is a great option if you plan to spend most of your time exploring the resort, hanging out at different pools, or staying active rather than prioritizing views from your room or poolside.

Preferred Club Rooms
Preferred Club rooms step things up quite a bit, especially the Junior Suite Oceanfront, which has some of the best views on the property. Preferred guests get access to the infinity pool overlooking the Caribbean, plus a huge ocean-view jacuzzi that’s exclusive to Preferred Club and feels incredibly relaxing. There’s also a private Preferred Club lounge with upgraded food and drinks, better liquor brands at Preferred bars, and upgraded beers stocked in the room. Preferred Club rooms — along with the Master, Governor, and Presidential Suites — include a bathtub in the bathroom, which adds to that spa-like feel. Another standout perk is access to an exclusive rooftop-style lounge overlooking the lagoon, which turns into a really fun night spot with music and a great vibe.

The biggest difference for me was the views and the pool experience. The non-Preferred pool areas don’t have direct over-the-sand ocean views, while the Preferred Club infinity pool does — and that alone made it feel extra special. Add in the massive ocean-view jacuzzi, and it’s easy to see why Preferred Club feels worth it here.
If you’re celebrating something, love a great view, or plan to spend a lot of time by the pool, I’d absolutely recommend upgrading to the Preferred Club here.
Preferred Club Experience
The Preferred Club areas are where Secrets Mirabel really stands out.
There’s a beautiful infinity pool overlooking the Caribbean with a swim-up bar, plus a huge jacuzzi with ocean views that feels incredibly peaceful. The regular (non-Preferred) pool doesn’t have direct over-the-sand ocean views, which is why I think Preferred Club is especially worth it here. That area felt extra special.
Inside the Preferred Club lounge, the space is large, open, and filled with ocean views. There’s a separate bar just for Preferred guests, delicious food available, and even a pool table. It felt calm, comfortable, and never crowded.
There’s also a third Preferred Club area that completely surprised me — a rooftop-style lounge overlooking the lagoon. At night, this area turns into such a vibe, with music, a DJ or piano, and sunken tables arranged in a circle. The tables are surrounded by water, and the whole setup feels really unique. No reservations needed — you just show up and enjoy.

Pools, Beach & Overall Resort Feel
For a resort with 487 rooms, Secrets Mirabel feels very spacious. There were plenty of open loungers, and it was easy to find a spot to relax whether you wanted something lively or more quiet. There were a lot of different small areas to hangout around the resort that made it feel like you had the place to yourself which i really loved!
The main swim-up bar was one of my favorite features. It has this cave-like feel, and you actually swim under a waterfall to get to the bar — it’s awesome!
The activity pool had great energy, with water workouts and activities happening throughout the day. Nearby, there’s even a ping-pong table, which just added to the fun, social vibe.
The beach is lined with plenty of palapas and lounge chairs, and the water is that unreal teal-blue Caribbean color. There’s full beach and concierge service for both food and drinks, so you never have to leave your chair unless you want to. There’s also a casual snack spot near the beach for burgers and quick bites, or you can have a waiter bring everything directly to you.

Restaurants
Restaurants at Secrets Mirabel are one of the areas where you can really see how well thought-out the resort is. There’s a good mix of sit-down restaurants, casual options, and grab-and-go spots, and nothing feels overwhelming or hard to navigate.
The Market Café buffet is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and even just walking through, it looked solid. The setup is open and bright, with indoor and outdoor seating, and every table looks out over the lagoon. Another thing I really liked is that the land across the lagoon is protected, so you’re not staring at other buildings — just water and open space, which honestly makes a big difference.
Coco Café is open 24 hours and felt like one of those places guests would end up at constantly. It’s a really cute space with lots of seating, barista-made coffee, and a full lineup of pastries, cookies, croissants, sandwiches, and gelato or ice cream. Easy, convenient, and actually good — which isn’t always the case at resorts. Bonus: the coffee actually tastes good!!! I personally hate when i go to a resort that has bad coffee!
For sit-down dining, there’s a strong lineup. Bordeaux, the French restaurant, opens at 6 PM and has wine bottles lining the walls, giving it a cozy, upscale feel. You can make reservations, but you don’t need reservations! There’s also a private room hidden behind the wine wall that can be reserved for smaller groups, which is a nice option for celebrations! There is no extra charge for this, you just need to make sure you reserve it in advance!

Olio, the Italian restaurant, is open for lunch and dinner and focuses on wood-fired pizza and pasta. In the mornings, it becomes the Preferred Club breakfast spot, which gives Preferred guests a quieter, more relaxed way to start the day. Another great reason to spring for the preferred club at this resort!
The Mexican restaurant, El Patio, is open for dinner and has a warm, inviting feel, while Blue Water Grill serves grilled meats and seafood and rounds out the dinner options nicely for guests looking for something heartier.
One of the standout spaces on the property is Himitsu, the Asian restaurant. The main dining room has floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the lagoon, which makes it an unreal spot around sunset. Himitsu also has three teppanyaki tables that each seat about 10 people. This is one of the only dining experiences that requires reservations, and it’s more of an experience than a quick dinner. Reservations can be made through the app, with the concierge, or at the front desk, and it’s definitely something to plan ahead for.
There’s also a dedicated tequila room on-site with a large selection of premium tequilas available for purchase, which is a fun option for tequila lovers or special occasions.
During the day, there are casual food options as well, including Barefoot Grill by the pool for burgers and quick bites. While I was there, they were also doing a pop-up grilling event near the pool, which added a fun, social feel to the whole area.
Overall, the restaurant scene at Secrets Mirabel feels easy, varied, and well-balanced. There are plenty of options, nothing feels stressful or overbooked, and it all fits the relaxed but elevated vibe of the resort.

Spa & Accessibility
The full spa isn’t open just yet, but they currently offer in-room spa services, including massages and facials, bringing everything directly to you. Once the spa fully opens, it’s expected to include a sauna, steam room, hydrotherapy circuit, whirlpool, and more.
There’s also a pressure-water spa pool area that’s open to everyone, overlooking the Caribbean — such a great place to relax and let the water massage your back.
The entire resort is fully accessible for guests using wheelchairs, which is always important to note.

Final Thoughts
Secrets Mirabel Cancun feels modern, relaxed, and really well designed. It’s best suited for couples who want an adults-only resort that feels social and fun, but never like a party resort. The overall vibe is calm and polished, but still lively enough that it never feels boring or too quiet.
Between the newly renovated design, the standout Preferred Club areas, beautiful pools, and those incredible lagoon and ocean views, this resort truly stands out in the Cancun Hotel Zone. The location at the south end of the hotel zone makes a big difference too — the airport transfer is short and easy, and the area itself feels more open and relaxed than other parts of Cancun.
The layout of the resort makes it feel spacious, even with a large number of rooms. There’s plenty of room to spread out, whether you want a lively pool scene, a quieter spot to relax, or a full beach day with service right to your chair. The pools, beach, and overall flow of the property make it easy to settle in and actually enjoy being there without feeling rushed or crowded.
The Preferred Club experience is really what takes Secrets Mirabel to the next level. From the oceanfront infinity pool and massive jacuzzi overlooking the Caribbean, to the upgraded lounge spaces and rooftop-style lagoon lounge at night, it adds a layer of exclusivity that feels worth it here — especially if you love great views or plan to spend a lot of time by the pool.
If you love beautiful pools, ocean views, good food and drinks, and an adults-only resort that feels elevated without being stuffy, Secrets Mirabel is absolutely one to keep on your radar. It’s easy, it’s beautiful, and it’s the kind of place that just feels good to be at from the moment you arrive.
